Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Cove Technologies (Cove Live, we, us) collects, uses and protects personal information in connection with the Cove Live service (Service). We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
1. What we collect
- Contact and account details. Name, email address, phone number and venue details, provided when you enquire, start a trial, purchase hardware or subscribe, or when a venue user is invited to the management portal.
- Sign-in information. Portal sign-in uses Google accounts through our authentication provider. We receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google. We never see or store your Google password.
- Billing information. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details are provided directly to Stripe and never touch our servers. We store only billing references (such as your Stripe customer id, subscription status and renewal dates).
- Uploaded content. Venue logos, promotional banners and similar material you upload to the portal for display on your screen.
- Technical data. Standard logs generated by operating the Service, such as IP addresses, browser type and pages accessed, used for security and troubleshooting.
2. How we use it
- Providing and operating the Service, including your venue's display and portal.
- Processing payments, subscriptions, renewals and refunds.
- Service communications: account invitations, trial and renewal reminders, payment notices, and responses to your enquiries.
- Support, troubleshooting, security and improving the Service.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use your information for third-party marketing.
3. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the service providers needed to run the Service: payment processing (Stripe), authentication (Clerk, using Google sign-in), email delivery (Resend), and hosting and infrastructure (Vercel). Each provider receives only what it needs to perform its function and handles it under its own privacy policy. Sports scores, fixtures and odds shown on your display come FROM third-party data providers; no personal information is sent to them. We may also disclose information where required by law.
4. Storage and security
Information is stored with reputable cloud providers and protected by industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit. Some of our providers store data on servers located outside Australia (including the United States). By using the Service you consent to this handling. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
5. Retention
We keep personal information while your account or enquiry is active and for as long as needed for legal, accounting or dispute-resolution purposes, after which it is deleted or de-identified. You can ask us to delete your venue's uploaded content or account information at any time, subject to records we are required to keep.
6. Access, correction and complaints
You can request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you by emailing info@covetech.com.au. If you have a privacy concern or complaint, contact us first and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
7. Cookies and analytics
The portal uses cookies for sign-in sessions and for remembering your preferences (such as light or dark mode).
Our public website also uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site. Google Analytics sets its own cookies and shares information with Google. We use it in aggregate only, with IP anonymisation enabled, and never for advertising or to build profiles of individuals. Venue displays and the customer portal are excluded from analytics entirely.
You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
8. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always available at covelive.com.au/privacy, and material changes will be notified to subscribers by email or through the portal.
